For a few years now all houses being sold and let must have a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), this is a document showing the energy efficiency of a residential property and the assessment is carried out by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor.

You will see on an EPC recomendations on how you can save money and many of these relate to the heating system or heating controls within the home.

Rest assured I’ll do everything I can to get you up & running without the need for a new one before I even suggest it but sometimes the spare parts required for a fix include very expensive computer circuitry and digital components and I’d be doing a disservice a boiler is simply better replaced.

There are many merits to a new boiler, they are super efficient now compared to an old back boiler or 15 year old combi, so you’ll save a fortune in gas. I can get them with great manufacturers warranties so reliability is assured, a necessity if you have a young family or the property is let out.

Firstly you need a ‘Gas Safe’ engineer, I have been registered for years, firstly with CORGI and now with Gas Safe. Secondly you need a reliable installer and that starts with them sourcing you a good new boiler. Like everything there are cheap end products which will make a quote very reasonable but if the boiler doesn’t last or the warranty is short then it may be a false economy.
